The Autonomy Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating inclusive spaces, transformative education, and meaningful advocacy for marginalized communities. We serve LGBTQIA+ individuals, sex workers, creatives, allies, and anyone seeking empowerment, resilience, and connection. Through a diverse range of programs and initiatives, we focus on fostering self-expression, building community, and equipping people with the tools to thrive in a challenging world. We own and operate the community space, Wicked Eden.
We started as a space for exploring sexuality and relationships but have grown into something much greater. Today, The Autonomy Project is a hub for education, advocacy, and creativity—a place where people can come together to learn, heal, connect, and build. At our core, we are about creating a world where everyone has the autonomy to live authentically and pursue their dreams.
In an ever-shifting world where challenges multiply, The Autonomy Project stands steadfast, adapting to meet the needs of those we serve. We are guided by a singular, driving purpose: to create a world where every individual has the autonomy to live authentically, advocate fiercely, and build boldly.
We began as a space for kink and sexuality education, but our mission has always been broader. Over the last 2 years, we’ve grown into an expansive community that champions a spectrum of identities, experiences, and voices. From LGBTQIA+ individuals and sex workers to creatives, allies, and advocates, our community reflects the diversity and strength of those who challenge societal norms and strive for something greater.
We’re taking action in the face of systemic challenges with legal advocacy workshops, ally and accomplice training, and mutual aid networks. These programs ensure our community is not only supported but equipped to face the future with confidence.
Our expanded curriculum now includes everything from financial literacy to relationship communication, safety planning, and creativity workshops. By providing practical, actionable knowledge, we’re empowering individuals to take charge of their lives.
We celebrate the power of creativity, connection, and community. Whether through art nights, themed socials, or performances that amplify marginalized voices, we are weaving a tapestry of support and expression.
From sex workers seeking safety and resources to gender and sexual minorities in need of validation and community, The Autonomy Project provides a place to belong. Our programs foster resilience and joy, reminding everyone that their identity is not just valid—it’s vital.
As we look ahead, our focus sharpens on the collective power of community. We envision a future where every person who walks through our doors or joins us online feels empowered to live authentically. Where resources are not just accessible but transformative. Where joy is an act of resistance, and resilience is a way of life.
We envision a future where education is a powerful tool for liberation. Our programming is designed to provide practical skills, actionable knowledge, and spaces for growth that meet people where they are. From legal advocacy workshops to ally training, from sexuality education to harm reduction, we’re empowering individuals and communities to face challenges with strength and confidence.
As we navigate turbulent cultural and political landscapes, resilience becomes essential. We’re committed to providing resources, support, and programming that foster emotional strength and community solidarity. Through peer-led support groups, mutual aid networks, and safe spaces for connection, we help people turn shared struggles into shared victories. Together, we’re cultivating a community that stands firm, even in the face of adversity.
We believe joy is an act of resistance, especially for marginalized communities. Our programming celebrates identity, creativity, and connection through events like queer dance nights, art showcases, and storytelling campaigns. By creating spaces for expression and celebration, we remind the world—and ourselves—that joy is not just possible but necessary.
The Autonomy Project is committed to advocacy that brings about real change. Through legal education, policy monitoring, and visibility campaigns, we amplify the voices of those who have long been silenced. By partnering with allies and equipping individuals with tools for action, we’re not just responding to oppression—we’re building systems of support and empowerment to dismantle it.
At the heart of our vision is a commitment to intersectionality. We serve a wide range of mission groups, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, sex workers, creatives, and gender, sexual, and romantic minorities (GSRM). Our programming reflects the diverse needs of these communities while recognizing the unique challenges faced by people of color, transgender individuals, and others living at the intersections of marginalization. By centering intersectionality, we ensure our work uplifts everyone.
Our vision is bold, but it’s not one we can achieve alone. It’s a future built by and for our community, fueled by the passion, creativity, and dedication of those who believe in this mission. Whether through volunteer efforts, financial contributions, or simply showing up, every action brings us closer to this shared vision.
The Autonomy Project is not just a safe space; it’s a launchpad for transformation. Together, we can build a future where autonomy is not a privilege but a universal right. Join us in this mission and help create a world where everyone can dream, connect, and thrive.
